Description
The Duotight 8mm to 6.35mm Reducer provides a simple way to connect 8mm OD tubing to compatible 6.35mm (1/4″) fittings. It is particularly useful when adapting different line sizes within a kegging system.
One side accepts 8mm (5/16″) OD tubing, while the other accepts 6.35mm (1/4″) OD tubing or a compatible 6.35mm connection. Therefore, the reducer makes it easy to transition between the two sizes without hose clamps or traditional barbed fittings.
Applications & Compatibility
- Large connection: 8mm (5/16″) Female
- Small connection: 6.35mm (1/4″) Female
- Configuration: Straight reducer
- Gas lines: Suitable for compatible gas line applications
- Liquid lines: Suitable for compatible beverage line applications
- Installation: Push-in connections require no hose clamps
For the 8mm side, pair this reducer with our Beer Line 4mm ID × 8mm OD or Beer Line 5mm ID × 8mm OD.
The 6.35mm (1/4″) connection also makes this reducer useful with compatible kegging fittings and dispensing equipment where a smaller connection is required.
Duotight Generation 2
Duotight Generation 2 fittings use two O-rings made from different materials. First, the EPDM O-ring provides excellent chemical and gas resistance. Meanwhile, the silicone O-ring stays flexible at low temperatures.
Generation 2 fittings use Polyketone (POK) instead of standard acetal. As a result, POK provides excellent chemical resistance, UV resistance and durability for brewing and beverage dispensing systems.
Generation 2 Features
- Dual EPDM and silicone O-ring sealing system
- Durable Polyketone (POK) construction
- High chemical resistance
- UV resistant
- Rated to over 300 psi at 25°C
- Colour-coded collets help identify the connection sizes
- Tube depth indicators help show when you have fully inserted the line
- Push-in connections require no hose clamps
For the best seal, first cut the tubing cleanly and square. Then push the tubing firmly into the fitting until it reaches the correct depth. To remove the tubing, press the collet in while pulling the line out.
