Description
The 10″ Hydrometer & Alcometer Trial Jar provides a practical vessel for taking hydrometer and alcometer readings. Made from alcohol-resistant plastic, it is suitable for testing brewing and spirit samples.
Its tall, narrow design allows the measuring instrument to float freely while reducing the amount of liquid required compared with a wider container.
Use with a Hydrometer
Pair the trial jar with our Hydrometer 3 Scale when checking the specific gravity of beer, wine, cider and other fermentations.
Add enough sample to the jar to allow the hydrometer to float freely without touching the bottom or sides.
Use with a Large Alcometer
The jar is also suitable for use with our Alcometer Large when measuring the alcohol strength of an alcohol and water mixture.
When using an alcometer, test the spirit before adding flavourings, sugar or other ingredients that can alter the density of the liquid.
