Description
The Short Alcometer 0–100% provides a simple way to measure the alcohol strength of a clean alcohol and water mixture. Its compact size also makes it convenient for testing smaller samples.
This glass alcometer reads from 0% to 100% alcohol and is calibrated at 20°C. It also comes with a protective storage tube.
Measuring Alcohol Strength
Float the alcometer freely in a suitable sample of your distilled alcohol and water mixture. For an accurate reading, the liquid should be free from additives that can affect its density.
The alcometer is calibrated at 20°C. Therefore, sample temperature should be considered when checking alcohol strength.
Use Before Adding Flavours or Sugar
Use the alcometer before adding flavourings, glucose, sugar or other ingredients to your spirit. These additions change the density of the liquid and can prevent an alcometer from providing a meaningful alcohol reading.
Compact Testing Setup
For convenient testing of smaller samples, pair this Short Alcometer with our 100ml Plastic Test Tube.
The test tube provides a practical vessel for holding your sample while allowing the alcometer to float freely for measurement.
