Description
Yeast Nutrient 100g is a blend of essential minerals and nutrients designed to support healthy yeast activity during fermentation. It contains zinc, phosphorus, potassium and manganese to help provide yeast with important nutrients throughout the fermentation process.
Healthy yeast activity can help promote a strong and reliable fermentation. In addition, providing adequate nutrients can help yeast continue working effectively as fermentation progresses towards final gravity.
How to Use Yeast Nutrient
The recommended dosage is 5 g per 25 L, which provides approximately 40 ppm.
Mix the required amount of Yeast Nutrient into a few litres of liquid to form a slurry. Then add it to the kettle approximately 15 minutes before the end of the boil.
Yeast Starters
Yeast Nutrient is also useful when preparing yeast starters with dry malt extract (DME). DME may not provide all the nutrients required for optimum yeast health, particularly zinc.
Therefore, adding yeast nutrient to a starter can provide additional minerals to support healthy yeast growth before pitching into your wort.
