Description

Distiller’s Nutrient Dark Spirits is a specialised yeast nutrient blend formulated to encourage enhanced congener production during fermentation. It is designed for washes used to produce fuller-flavoured dark spirits where developing greater depth and character is desirable.

Suitable for sugar washes, fruit mashes and molasses washes, the blend provides yeast with essential nutrients, vitamins and trace minerals. In addition, an antifoaming agent helps control excessive foaming during fermentation.

Dosages below are suitable for fermentation volumes of up to 25L. However, the amount required varies depending on the type of wash or mash being fermented.

Distiller’s Nutrient Dark Spirits Dosage

• Sugar Wash: Up to 15% ABV – add 75g or approximately 4 bottle caps.
• Fruit Mash: Up to 15% ABV – add 50g or approximately 3 bottle caps.
• Molasses Wash: Up to 12% ABV – add 50g or approximately 3 bottle caps.

Mixing Instructions

Shake the container well before use. Add the required amount of nutrient together with your chosen yeast, then stir thoroughly until dissolved.

Afterwards, allow the wash or mash to ferment according to the instructions and recommended conditions for the yeast strain being used.

Warning: Harmful if swallowed, in contact with skin or if inhaled. Causes serious eye irritation. Harmful to aquatic life.

Wear eye protection, protective gloves and suitable protective clothing. Avoid breathing dust and use in a well-ventilated area. Wash hands thoroughly after handling. Do not eat, drink or smoke while using this product. Avoid release to the environment.

First Aid

• If inhaled: Move the person to fresh air and keep them comfortable for breathing.
• If swallowed: Rinse mouth and contact a Poisons Information Centre or doctor if you feel unwell.
• If on skin: Wash with plenty of water. If skin irritation occurs, seek medical advice. Remove contaminated clothing and wash it before reuse.
• If in eyes: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses if present and easy to remove, then continue rinsing. If irritation persists, seek medical advice.
