Description
The 9.5L Ball Lock Keg – Stainless Steel is a compact Cornelius-style keg for storing, carbonating and dispensing home brewed beer and other suitable beverages.
Made from passivated 304 stainless steel, the keg features smooth internal robotic/orbital welds, Cornelius-style ball lock posts, stainless steel dip tubes and a swing-lock lid with pressure relief valve.
In addition, a yellow LOW2 lid O-ring provides the main lid seal, while the black rubber base and handle make the keg practical to move and store.
Compact 9.5 Litre Ball Lock Keg
With a nominal capacity of 9.5 litres, this keg provides the familiar ball lock keg format in a more compact size.
Therefore, it is useful for smaller batches, split batches or situations where a full 19 litre keg is not required.
The stainless steel body provides a durable and reusable alternative to bottling. In addition, the compact size makes the keg easier to fit into smaller refrigeration and dispensing setups where space is limited.
The keg measures approximately 214mm in diameter × 370mm high.
Gas-In and Liquid-Out Ball Lock Posts
The keg uses separate Cornelius-style ball lock connections for gas and liquid.
The Ball Lock Keg Gas Post – 19/32″ provides the gas-in connection for carbonation and dispensing pressure.
Meanwhile, the Ball Lock Keg Liquid Post – 19/32″ provides the liquid-out connection for dispensing.
Both posts can be serviced separately if they become worn or damaged. Therefore, individual posts can be replaced without replacing the complete keg.
Gas and Liquid Dip Tubes
Inside the keg, separate stainless steel dip tubes service the gas and liquid connections.
The short gas dip tube sits beneath the gas-in post. Meanwhile, the liquid dip tube extends towards the bottom of the keg so beverage can be drawn through the liquid-out post.
Replacement dip tubes and their seals can also be serviced separately as part of routine keg maintenance.
Complete Lid with PRV and LOW2 O-Ring
The keg includes a stainless steel swing-lock lid with a ring-pull pressure relief valve and yellow LOW2 lid O-ring.

In addition, the lid includes an internal hook for attaching a suitable hop bomb, hop tube or flavour infuser.
LOW2 Keg Lid Seal
The yellow LOW2 lid O-ring provides the main seal between the stainless steel lid and keg opening.
LOW2 uses a synthetic M-Class cross-linked elastomer designed to provide improved oxygen barrier properties compared with conventional silicone keg lid seals.
If the seal eventually needs replacing, use our LOW2 Ball Lock Keg Lid O-Ring. Therefore, you can service the main lid seal without replacing the complete lid assembly.
Optional Floating Dip Tube Modification
For brewers who prefer a floating liquid pickup, this keg can be suitably modified to use our 100cm Silicone Dip Tube Kit with Weighted Filter & Float.
Instead of drawing from the bottom, the floating pickup follows the liquid level and draws from near the surface. As a result, it can help reduce the amount of settled yeast, hops or other sediment entering the liquid line.
Pressure Rating
The keg has a 130 PSI working pressure rating.
As with any pressurised kegging equipment, inspect the keg, seals, posts and fittings regularly. In addition, replace worn or damaged components before pressurising the keg.
Replacement Parts & Maintenance
The major assemblies and seals on this keg can be serviced separately. Therefore, you can replace individual components rather than replacing the complete keg.
