Create+ T500 Column & Condenser

Description

The Create+ T500 Column & Condenser is an all-in-one reflux column and condenser designed for producing clean, high-purity neutral spirit. Constructed from durable 304-grade stainless steel, it combines the reflux column and condenser into a practical system with a versatile 2 inch tri-clamp connection.

The column comes pre-packed with copper and stainless steel saddles. As a result, it provides the surface area and copper contact required for effective reflux distillation.

When used with a suitable wash and equipment, the T500 can produce spirit at up to 93% ABV before dilution and recover up to 95% of the alcohol from the wash. Therefore, the resulting neutral spirit is ideal for vodka-style spirits or as a clean base for spirit flavourings, gin and other botanical spirits.

304-Grade Stainless Steel Construction

The T500 Column & Condenser is manufactured from 304-grade stainless steel for durability and corrosion resistance.

In addition, the stainless steel construction provides a robust distillation column suitable for repeated use. Copper packing within the column provides the important copper contact required during distillation.

Pre-Packed Reflux Column

The T500 comes pre-packed with both copper and stainless steel saddles.

The copper saddles help remove unwanted sulphur compounds and associated odours during distillation. Meanwhile, the stainless steel saddles provide a large surface area for the repeated condensation and evaporation required during reflux.

Together, the two types of packing help the column produce a clean, high-purity neutral spirit.

2 Inch Tri-Clamp Connection

The Create+ T500 features a 2 inch tri-clamp connection. Therefore, the column can connect securely to compatible equipment while also allowing the use of compatible 2 inch tri-clamp accessories.

This modular connection provides additional flexibility if you want to experiment with compatible attachments and different Create+ configurations.

Suitable for Water Distillation

The T500 can also be used for distilling water. In particular, the combination of copper and stainless steel packing provides extensive surface contact within the reflux column.

As a result, the system can effectively separate impurities during water distillation when operated according to the manufacturer instructions.

Performance

When paired with the Create+ Boiler 25 L and a suitable wash, the T500 can distil at up to 93% ABV before dilution.

Using a standard 25 litre Turbo Classic 8 Production Pack wash prepared with 6kg of sugar, the system can produce approximately 8 litres at 40% ABV after dilution.

In addition, the system can recover up to 95% of the alcohol from the wash under suitable operating conditions.

However, actual yield and purity can vary depending on the wash, fermentation, operating conditions and distillation technique.

Cooling Water

When used with the Create+ Water Flow Regulator, average cooling water consumption is approximately 200 litres per 25 litre distillation.

The supplied tap adaptor and flow controller make it easier to connect the condenser cooling system to compatible kitchen or garden taps.

Compatibility

The T500 Column & Condenser is ideal for use with the Create+ Boiler 25 L.

In addition, it is compatible with Grainfather G30, G40 and G70 Brewing Systems. Therefore, the condenser can be incorporated into several compatible distilling setups.
