Description
The Still Spirits T500 Stainless Steel Saddles 500g provide replacement column packing for compatible T500 reflux distillation columns. Their shape provides a large surface area inside the column, helping support the refluxing action used to remove impurities during distillation.
Made from stainless steel, the saddles are non-porous and provide a durable alternative to ceramic saddles and other porous column packing.
Column Packing for Reflux Distillation
Stainless steel saddles provide optimal surface area for reflux distilling. As vapour travels through the packed column, the saddles help support repeated condensation and evaporation within the condenser.
As a result, effective column packing helps the T500 reflux system separate and remove impurities while producing a cleaner spirit.
Packing the T500 Column
Add the Still Spirits T500 Copper Saddles 100g to the column first. Then add the stainless steel saddles, shaking the column as you fill it to help settle the packing into position.
Make sure the copper saddles remain positioned at the top of the column while filling it with the stainless steel saddles.
