Developed through the USDA breeding program at Oregon State University, Cascade was released in 1972 and went on to become an important hop in American craft brewing. Its bright aroma and versatile brewing character make it a popular choice for a wide range of beer styles.

However, neither hop will reproduce Cascade exactly. Each substitute has its own flavour profile and alpha acid level. Therefore, adjust your recipe and hop quantities as required when making a substitution.
