Description
Air-Cooled Alembic Distilling with Still Spirits VORTEX
The Still Spirits VORTEX Alembic Equipment Kit brings air-cooled condenser technology to alembic-style distilling. Instead of continuously running cooling water through a traditional condenser, VORTEX uses forced air to dissipate heat.
The kit combines a VORTEX Air Cooled Condenser Module with Still Spirits CREATE+ 2-inch modular components, tri-clamps, gaskets and accessories required to assemble the VORTEX alembic configuration.
Pair the equipment kit with the CREATE+ Alembic Copper Dome and CREATE+ 25L Boiler to complete the main VORTEX alembic setup.
Copper dome and boiler sold separately.
How the VORTEX Air-Cooled Condenser Works
Vapour or liquid passes through stainless steel product tubes within the VORTEX condenser. Aluminium cooling fins absorb heat from the tubes, while three integrated fans move air across the fins to dissipate that heat.
A control dial adjusts the fan speed and therefore the rate of heat dissipation. This provides cooling control similar to changing the water flow through a conventional water-cooled condenser.
The result is an alembic setup that can operate without the additional continuous cooling-water supply normally required by a traditional condenser.
Designed for Alembic-Style Distilling
Alembic-style distilling is suited to spirits where retaining flavour and character from the fermented wash is desirable.
The VORTEX Alembic Equipment Kit replaces the conventional water-cooled condenser in a compatible alembic setup with the VORTEX Air Cooled Condenser.
Its modular CREATE+ components use 2-inch tri-clamp connections, making assembly straightforward while providing compatibility with suitable Still Spirits equipment.

Important Information
Still Spirits specifies limits for the total height, weight and balance of column and condenser assemblies mounted to its Boiler Lid or Alembic Dome.
External support may be required where an assembled system exceeds the manufacturer’s specified height or weight limits, has significant off-centre weight or is noticeably leaning.
The aluminium cooling fins can have sharp edges. Take care when handling, assembling, cleaning or storing the VORTEX condenser.
Always assemble and operate the equipment according to the manufacturer’s instructions and comply with applicable laws and regulations regarding distilling equipment and alcohol distillation.
